Camden County National Honor Society

The Camden County National Honor Society is now accepting applications for new members. Applications are due by Thursday, September 19th, at 2:45 p.m. Eligible students are 10th–11th graders with at least a 3.5 weighted GPA. The application link can be found here, on Camden County High School’s website under Student Clubs, or on the society's Facebook page. Students who would like a paper application can see Mrs. Bush. The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new high school will take place on Monday, July 14th at 2:00 PM at the site of the new high school.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING CCS BOE The Camden County Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting on June 25, 2025, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Camden County Schools Conference Room located at 118 NC Highway 343 North, Camden, NC 27921. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and possibly take action on Financial Updates and Budget Amendments to close out the 2024-2025 fiscal year, and to discuss and possibly take action on one or more matters relating to the employment of personnel. The Board will also hold a closed session at the beginning of the meeting in accordance with N.C.G.S. § 143-318.11(a)(1), to prevent the disclosure of information that is privileged or confidential or confidential or not considered a public record under N.C.G.S. § 143-318.11(a)(1) pursuant to N.C.G.S. §§ 115C-319, 115C-402, and 20 U.S.C. § 1232(g); N.C.G.S. § 143-318.11(a)(3), in order to confer with the Board Attorney regarding a matter within the attorney/client privilege and to preserve that privilege; and N.C.G.S. § 143-318.11(a)(6), in order to discuss one or more personnel matters that are confidential under North Carolina law. The closed session will begin at 5:00 p.m. The Board will re-convene in open session following its closed session. The meeting will not be livestreamed. The Camden County Board of Education will hold a special meeting on June 18, 2025, beginning at 6:30 p.m.at 104 Issac Court, Camden, NC 27921 for the purpose of holding a closed session as permitted by N.C.G.S. § 143-318.11(a)(6) in order to consider the qualifications, competence, performance, character, fitness, conditions of appointment, or conditions of initial employment of an individual public officer or employee or prospective public officer or employee. No action is expected to be taken after the Board returns to open session.

As construction progresses, please be aware that there will be increased construction traffic along Highway 343 North, particularly between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please use caution in the area and allow for additional travel time if needed. Thank you for your continued support as we work to build a brighter future for Camden County students.

The Camden County High School FFA Plant Sale is this Saturday, May 10th, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Camden County High School Greenhouse behind the CCHS Gym next to Camden Early College.

The Camden County Board of Education will have its regular meeting on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at the Camden County Public Library for various purposes. The Board will hold a closed session at 6:00 p.m. to discuss one or more confidential personnel matters, as allowed by NCGS 143-318.11(a)(1),(3), and (6). The closed session will be followed by an open session at 7:00 p.m. The open session is open to the public in accordance with the North Carolina Open Meetings law.
